Anxiety & Worry
“Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s trouble, it takes away today’s peace.” - Randy Armstrong
According to researchers at Penn State, only about 8% of the things we worry about actually come true. In essence, less than 1 in 10 things we worry or stress about are important. While some level of anxiety and worry is good to ensure healthy preparation and presentation, at times, fear and worry start dictating every area of our lives. We just can’t manage the feelings and the anticipation, and it’s hard to discern what we are really worried about.
Let me support you in using your innate strength and courage to regain your focus and reclaim your peace TODAY.
Major Life Changes & Events (Adjustment Disorders)
“There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1 (The Message)
It’s not a matter of IF life and time will bring change—welcome and unwelcome—it’s a matter of WHEN. Maybe a romantic relationship ended, and you didn’t see it coming. Maybe it’s taking much longer than you’d hoped to save enough to get that home or apartment in a safer neighborhood. Or maybe you’re becoming a parent for the first time or marrying the one you love and their family comes along as well! Life events like these are not uncommon. However, the impact, intensity, and duration of your feelings about the events may bring discomfort. In these times, making a connection becomes important.
When you’re facing major life changes like these, I’m here to help you navigate the ups and downs, reconcile your feelings, and find relief.
Depression, Traumatic Events, and Other Disorders
“Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.” - Peter A. Levine
Trauma is summarized as a person’s emotional response to a distressing experience that is unbearable and intolerable. Unlike ordinary hardships, traumatic events tend to be sudden and unpredictable, involve a serious threat to life—like bodily injury or death—and feel beyond a person’s control. Such events can overwhelm an individual’s ability to cope, triggering feelings of hopelessness and diminishing their ability to focus, concentrate, and make reasonable and rational decisions under pressure. In most if not all cases, traumatic events undermine a person’s sense of safety in the world and create a perception that catastrophe could strike at any time.
I would value the opportunity to assist you in reconciling your historical hurts and traumas, receive healing, and live intentionally and responsibly.
